Staying intact at British Gas

British Gas will stop short of offering to break itself up this week in its submission to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission's investigation of the UK gas business. It is expected to propose a system of Chinese walls to keep its pipeline business separate from gas trading.

Air strike over

The six-day strike at USAir, the airline due to receive a dollars 750m injection from British Airways, ended when mechanics agreed to pay cuts.
