Barclays spends pounds 14m buying Barclays

Barclays has spent pounds 13.8m buying back 1 million of its ordinary shares. The bank said at its interim results earlier this month that it planned to spend pounds 700m on share buy-backs, and has now spent more than pounds 300m. The shares rose 11p to 1393.5p.
