Aon counterbid

Aon Corporation, the US insurance giant that operates in the UK, may make a counter-bid for UK insurance brokers Willis Corroon, topping the pounds 851m offer from KKR last month. KKR has already received acceptances from almost 20 per cent of Willis Corroon shareholders and stands to gain a fee of pounds 8m from Willis if it accepts a higher offer. Willis could also be sued by a US fund manager Royce & Associates which claims that the KKR bid under-values the company.
