Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The sequel to Commandos is finally here, and has exceeded all our expectations. Now, as players attempt to foil the Third Reich, they can make use of new features such as rotating cameras, new characters, and even new manoeuvres to help their cause. The game is incredibly difficulty, and requires a high level of skill and patience to complete.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire: Second Edition
PC-CDRom
****
The biggest selling game of all time is back, with Chris Tarrant presenting. Besides all the new questions, the only real improvement is in terms of aesthetics – the game now includes an improved front end and a virtual game-show set. Overall, this is the original title with bells on – just as frustratingly addictive, but a little prettier.

World Snooker 2002
PlayStation 2
****
Although there are very few memorable snooker games, World Championship Snooker 2002 is an exception. Players have the opportunity to take on the finest talent in snooker in a variety of competitions. Along with some admirable graphics, this title has the most accurate and realistic gameplay to date. Finally a cue sports sim with brains as well as beauty.
(Codemasters, out now, £39.99)

F1 2001
PC-CDROM
*****
EA's latest racing simulator is the first F1 title to offer full 2001 FIA team rosters, cars and tracks, as well as incredible weather simulations, animated pit crews and a huge amount more. In terms of graphics and gameplay, F1 2001 is unbeatable, and the inclusion of the awesome F1 management game means when you're done driving, you can run the show from behind the scenes.
(EA, out now, £29.99)
