Top business executives are overwhelmingly against further consolidation among the leading accountancy firms, according to a world-wide survey published yesterday. The research, on behalf of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, one of only two Big Six firms not currently planning a merger, found that just under 70 per cent of executives were opposed to the moves, with 40 per cent strongly opposed.
