In a story published on Sep. 3, 2024, about Algeria’s president seeking a second term in the gas-rich North African country’s election this weekend, The Associated Press erroneously reported voter turnout figures from past elections. The voter turnout from the 2019 presidential election was 39.9% and the voter turnout from the 2021 legislative election was 23.0%.
