Your support makes all the difference.An open day next week offers free entry to more than 4,600 events at places across England that are usually closed to the public or charge for admission.
Heritage Open Days celebrates England's architecture and culture by offering free access to castles, city halls, tunnels, police cells, private homes, and many more historic sites.
The event has been held for 20 years and new attractions this year include the largest timber structure in Europe, Dunston Staithes in Gateshead. Visitors will be able to walk on the former railway for the first time in more than 20 years.
Other attractions include the Capability Brown designed Cadland House Gardens in Fawley, Southampton, the 13th century Cheylesmore Manor in Coventry, and the City Varieties Music Hall in Leeds.
Events also include historic re-enactments, WWI roadshows, one-off talks and guided tours.
The most popular events during the four-day festival from next Thursday, 11 September, to Sunday 14 September will need to be prebooked through the website at heritageopendays.org.uk.
A taste of coffee that won't grind down your finances
CaféPod makes Nespresso-compatible capsules using coffee roasted, ground, tasted and packed in-house in north Lincolnshire. The firm has just launched its Origins Inspired range at £2.99 for 10 capsules, which feature single-origin Fairtrade coffees such as Colombia Huila and Sumatra Lake Tawar.
From next Wednesday they'll be available at a third off in Waitrose stores, reducing a pack of 10 to £2. The deal runs until 7 October.
Prices are barbecued with offer on cookery books
Book retailer Blackwell's is offering 30 per cent off of all Hamlyn cookery books at its online store, or three for two in-store.
The books cost £3.49 and the offer is available until 17 September 2014. Titles include 200 Barbecue Recipes and 200 Budget Meals and the full range includes 50 books, all of which can be viewed at blackwell.co.uk.

New car and free insurance deal for young motorists
A brand new car with 12 months' free insurance could cost drivers as young as 17 just £2,100 through Marmalade's Fuel & Go scheme.
As well as offering savings on new cars through partnerships with manufacturers, the scheme claims to be the only to offer 17 and 18-year-olds free insurance.
