Bargain Hunter: Art for charity's sake - get in the frame for a celebrity drawing

Original artworks by celebrities such as David Dimbleby, Graham Norton, Ronnie Corbett, Andrew Marr, Tom Conti, Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Chris Difford of Squeeze are up for grabs in the Big Art Secret charity auction.

The deadline to bid is tomorrow evening and the organisers claim that many of the celebrity contributions have remained unspotted and so could still be snapped up for as little as 99p each.

Hotel rooms at a discount near landmark destinations

The hotel chain Mercure is offering 30 per cent off stays at its 74 hotels across the UK. The reductions will mean bedrooms start from £59 per night until 5 May.

Tesco offers baby steps to stretching family budgets

There's nothing you can teach a Scot about saving

Scots are the most reward- savvy consumers in the UK, saving an average of £1,019 per year, reckons American Express. Those living in the north-west of England save on average £606 a year, and Londoners recoup just over £700 through rewards and offers. That compares to a national average of £742 per annum.
