From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Pink has been praised by Kate Hudson and Selma Blair for cutting her hair off to reveal a buzz cut.

On Thursday, the singer uploaded a photograph of herself with her newly shaved head aimed at the camera and tufts of freshly cut hair in her hands.

Pink, who has 7.3 million followers, captioned the image: “Letting Go”.

The singer’s post has already garnered more than 615,000 likes and hundreds of comments.

Hudson, who has previously spoken about how free she felt after getting a buzz cut of her own, commented: “The most liberating”.

Another avid supporter of the hairstyle is Cruel Intentions star, Blair, who commented: “Twins”.

The actor, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2018, shared a photograph of her own buzz cut on social media in November and explained that hair loss has been a symptom of the chemotherapy she is undergoing for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, a treatment for MS.

“I cut my hair short to transition myself and my son for impending baldness,” Blair wrote before explaining that due to patchy growth, she has decided to leave her hair short and in this style.

“And maybe giving up long, brown hair, complete with time consuming and expensive highlights and lowlights isn’t necessarily a give up,” the actor added. “Give in. Embrace. Sure. I’ll try it.”
