Upskirting is the act of taking an unsolicited photograph up someone’s skirt or dress; it has been illegal in the UK since February following a campaign led by writer and activist Gina Martin.
Speaking on her E! True Hollywood Story, which airs on Sunday but premiered on YouTube in the US on Monday, Kardashian West recalled being bombarded by photographers with Hilton in the mid-2000s.
"I remember we were sitting in her SLR Mercedes,” the reality star said. “And at that point, the paparazzi would lay on the ground to try and get a picture of you, up your dress, and [Hilton] said, 'OK. We need to make sure you don't give them that’.”
Kardashian West, who was once employed by Hilton to organise her wardrobe, went on to describe the Simple Life star as a “great mentor”.
"I really am grateful for my experiences with her,” the Keeping up with the Kardashians star added.
“She's a huge, huge reason for my success."
Hilton has been equally gushing about Kardashian West in interviews, previously telling ES Magazine that the two had been “texting a few weeks ago”.
"I love Kim," the 38-year-old hotel heiress continued.
"Basically we’ve been friends since we were born. I’m so proud of her, and everything she’s achieved. Her family is beautiful, the little boy and girl, and I’m really happy for her."
