Your support helps us to tell the story

This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

The Independent is trusted by 27 million Americans from across the entire political spectrum every month. Unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock you out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. But quality journalism must still be paid for.

Help us keep bring these critical stories to light. Your support makes all the difference.

The Independent has teamed up with HowTheLightGetsIn, the world’s largest philosophy and music festival, to give away four pairs of tickets to those signed up to our Independent Women newsletter.

The world renowned event, which runs from 18 – 19 September, returns to Kenwood House and is to bring a weekend of live performances, debates and talks from world leading thinkers.

The festival draws in some of the biggest thinkers, with more than 100 events spread across the weekend at the frontier of new and exciting ideas and theories. Not to mention live music, the best of UK stand-up comedy, cabaret, documentary screenings, and a whole host of other events.

To be in with a chance of winning the tickets all you have to do is sign up to the Independent Women newsletter by entering your email in the box above, or by clicking here and scrolling to the women newsletter icon by 23.59 (BST) tonight (8 September).

The details of how to enter the competition will be included in the newsletter sent out tomorrow (9 September), that will be your only opportunity to receive the details of how to enter and your entry must be received by 23.59 (BST) on 15 September.
