Charlotte Tilbury has unveiled a new range of lipsticks named after inspiring women, including JK Rowling and Amal Clooney.

The cult British beauty brand has created 11 new shades as part of its Hot Lips 2 collection, which are all named after women bar one: "Enigmatic Edward", a clear moisturising shade named after British Vogue editor, Edward Enninful.

Women honoured in the collection, which launches on Thursday 20 June, include: actors Susan Sarandon, Jennifer Aniston and Sofia Vergara, model Alessandra Ambrosio and Kylie Minogue.

Tilbury has also included a vibrant scarlet shade named after her mother, Patsy Tilbury.

Sales of the collection will benefit Women for Women International, the charity working to help female survivors of war rebuild their lives and regain social and economic autonomy.

Tilbury has been an ambassador for the non-profit since 2016, when she launched the first Hot Lips collection.

The beauty company is hoping to raise £1 million for Women for Women International through its sales. This will help bring its year-long training programme to other parts of the world and give more women access to the charity's resources.

Speaking about the launch, Tilbury said: “I have bottled the beauty DNA of 11 iconic, world-changing people to create new shades in homage to their inspiring beauty and lives, and the difference we can make together!”

The Hot Lips 2 collection also comes in refillable packaging, a first for the British brand, with refills for each shade available on Charlotte Tilbury's website.

Refillable products might soon become the norm in the beauty industry in a bid to champion sustainability.

Earlier this month, Olay announced it will start trialling refillable moisturiser pots to reduce plastic waste.

Several other brands offer refillable packaging, including Clarins, Jo Malone and Lush.
