Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Sky Television launches a new six-part documentary series, Bloody Foreigners!, tomorrow at 10pm on Sky One. Eating, drinking, working, procreating - we know the stereotypes, but what is life really like in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Sweden and the UK? Bloody Foreigners! probes the myths and gives the lowdown on how our fellow Europeans really behave in their natural habitat. The result is a mixture of interviews, hidden camerawork, snippets of sport, music and TV, together with vox pops from the natives themselves.

To celebrate the launch of Bloody Foreigners!, one reader can win a luxury trip for two for three nights to one of the locations featured in the series - France, Italy or Spain, the choice is yours. The winner will be treated to return flights, first-class hotel accommodation, a panoramic sightseeing tour and dinner. For a chance to win, just write, on a postcard what time Bloody Foreigners! is on tomorrow. Send your answers, including your name and address and choice of destination to: Jenny Dannenberg, Sky TV, Grant Way, Isleworth, Middx TW7 5QD by 6 Jul. First card out of the bag wins. Usual Independent Newspapers rules apply.
