Take the family to explore Swedish brand Newbie's sustainable childrenswear
With plenty of free activities in locations across the country, Newbie’s travelling Airstream roadshow is a great way to get creative with the kids this summer
This summer, Newbie is going on a road trip. The stylish Swedish childrenswear brand is taking a specially-designed Airstream to eight UK locations over two months, hosting free activities and events for parents and their children.
First launched in 2010 as part of KappAhl's childrenswear segment, Newbie garnered such popularity that it become a standalone brand in its own right, opening its first store in Stockholm just four years later.
And now, UK shoppers around the country can get a taste of what it has to offer. The Newbie travelling Airstream has plenty to enjoy, providing classic family fun and activities that include face painting, flower crown making and sing-and-sign classes, Newbie will be celebrating its heritage with traditional Swedish lawn games and a focus on fika: a concept based around socialising and companionship.
Attendees will also be able to browse Newbie’s latest collections and order items to be delivered to their home the next day. Earth-conscious shoppers can rest assured: not only does the Gothenburg-born brand boast a timeless Scandi aesthetic – where muted tones meet whimsical nature-inspired prints – but it has sustainability at its heart, too.
All Newbie’s cotton is organic, and all other materials are from sustainable or recycled resources, while robust chemical testing by independent laboratories ensures that you won't find environmentally harmful products on Newbie’s clothing.
Plus, the renovated 1960s Airstream that’ll be touring the country has been restored with sustainability in mind, utilising materials with green credentials and a recycling process already set up for once the roadshow has finished.
Newbie on Tour's next stop will be Leeds Dock Festival between 28-30 June, followed by a stint in Manchester from 1-7 July. Afterwards the airstream will be heading to Birmingham between 8-14 July, followed by Cardiff from 15-21 July and Bristol from 22-28 July. The Airstream will return to Milton Keynes on 19-25 August and conclude the fun-packed summer of activities in Sheffield, where it’ll be from 26-31 August.
