Kim Kardashian has reflected on her split from Pete Davidson and how she was left with “a lot of guilt”.

Kardashian, who dated Davidson for nine months in 2022, shared her candid thoughts about dating during the season three premiere of The Kardashians. She confirmed that she wasn’t in a relationship anymore in a confessional interview, as she said: “OK, I’m single.”

“I’m single and I’m not ready to mingle and that’s OK,” she continued.

During a conversation with sister Khloé Kardashian and Scott Disick, the Skims founder discussed how this was her first breakup since her marriage to ex Kanye West, whom she filed for divorce from in February 2021. She said she and Davidson didn’t have a bad breakup and had many conversations about it.

“Breakups are just like, not my thing,” she said. “It’s just, I’m proud of myself. I mean, we just had talks and talks. Like, we had been talking about it. So it was just like, both of us just like communicating really well about it.”

However, she still noted that her breakup was “obviously sad,” as she was with Davidson for a “long time”. She described how she felt after ending the relationship, since West had publicly harassed Davidson online during it.

“And there was a lot of guilt,” she said. “He went through a lot because of my relationship.”

She then said that while she was nervous about dating again, she’s still excited to ultimately find the right person for her.

“I go back and forth in my feelings sometimes, like ‘Ugh, who’s ever going to want to date me? I have four kids…I’m in my forties,’” she explained, during a confessional interview. “Like, ‘Oh my god, who’s going to want to deal with the drams?’ But my person will be like, ‘F*** all that. It’s going to be hard but we’re together and like, we’re going to do this.’ So I’m just waiting for that person.”

Davidson and Kardashian officially split in August 2022, after meeting on the set of SNL in October 2021. Throughout the relationship, they were both publicly criticised by West. For example, in since-deleted posts, West claimed that he and The Kardashians star disagreed about schools for their four children, North, nine, Saint, seven, Chicago, five, and Psalm, four. In February 2022, West also mocked Davidson for deleting his Instagram, after the comedian had reactivated his account for the first time since 2020.

During a conversation with Interview Magazine in September, published one month after her breakup, Kardashian still shared her well-wishes for Davidson. “He’s literally such a good person, they don’t really make them like him anymore. I’m excited for what he has coming up,” she said.

Elsewhere in the season three premiere of The Kardashians, the Skkn by Kim founder discussed the emotional turmoil she’s experienced throughout her divorce, since West has shared personal details about their lives on social media.

“There’s been a lot going on with Kanye right now,” she said. “I think at this point, I just assume everything I text Kanye is gonna be put on the internet. I think I can handle anything, I just get really heartbroken for my mom, that she has to deal with so much from so many different sides.”

Kardashian also said that she felt as though her ex-husband “looked down” on her for her sex tape with Ray J, which went viral in 2007. “[He] brings it up all over town, all over the media,” she said. “Like, thanks for reminding people once again.”

However, according to Kardashian, she said that West’s “shenanigans” could actually be more “damaging” for their children than her sex tape “would ever be”.

“I have to sit here and not say anything, ever, because I know one day my kids will appreciate that,” she said. “And I know that is the best thing for them.”
