From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Eyes are now turning towards the International Home and Housewares show in the United States. Held March 6-8, the event attracts around 60,000 professional visitors a year and showcases the latest products in home design. Prior to this event the winners of the skyscraper design exhibition will be announced on February 28. Among the entries in 2010 was a floating "skyscraper city" that extended downwards to the ocean floor.

March 6-8
McCormick Place
Chicago, IL, USA

An international showcase of household and home products organized by the International Housewares Association. The 2011 Home and Housewares show is divided into four categories: Clean and Contain, Dine and Design, Wired and Well and Global Crossroads, which contains the stall of international exhibitors. On average the show attracts around 60,000 professional attendees, 15,000 US buyers and 6,000 international buyers from over 100 countries per year. In terms of visitor numbers the show is therefore much smaller than Ambiente (February 11-15) yet larger than the Thailand International Furniture Fair (March 16-20).
