Fans of lush, country-tinged pop (and lower case lettering), awake! k d lang toured Australia for the first time last year and last week Warner Vision released k d lang Live in Sydney, a film of her concert at the city's State Theatre.

The concert features numbers from her 1995 album All You Can Eat, and favourites from her earlier recordings, including the international hit, "Constant Craving". lang also returns to her country roots, belting out Roy Orbison's "Crying" ( which she recorded as a duet with him before he died), Burt Bacharach's "Rose Garden" and a tongue-in-cheek version of another Bacharach classic, "What's New Pussycat?". Throughout, the performance is a showcase for the phenomenal range and colour of her voice. The video also features backstage material, including interview footage in which lang banters about her life as a singer and gay icon.
