Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The Independent fashion team spent last weekend at London Fashion Week, running from show to show, sneaking backstage where possible and party hopping. Thanks to Polo Jeans and I-D magazine for the most glamorous party, and to Diesel who provided the most innovative and mind-boggling set - a huge maze with different scenes around every corner - amazing. With the help of Kodak Advantix (a fab new camera with drop loading and three picture formats) we've managed to capture a few of those fashion moments. Here are a small selection - the rest are censored.

Photographs: Melanie Rickey and Charlie Harrington

Main: models frolic in the bath at Diesel's extravaganza. Below left: Patrick Cox after his first London show. Below right: In the pen; Vogue catwalk photographer Andrew Lamb having a good old chuckle at Patrick Cox's show. Clockwise from bottom left: Jade Parfitt at Owen Gaster; who is that snapping?; Yuk!, a table overflowing with food and butts backstage at Owen Gaster - models are so messy

Below from top: a dream sequence at Hussein Chalayan's East End show - don't forget how to walk in your heels, girls. A peep show at the Diesel event; a temptress pouts while in the background two boys kiss, and another gets dressed - saucy.

Bottom right: models having a chinwag at the I-D Polo Jeans party.
