In an interview with E! News, the former Spice Girls member was asked about Kardashian recently speaking about being a huge fan of the Spice Girls in a recent episode of The Kardashians. In the episode, the reality TV star shared with the cameras that Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm - also known as Sporty Spice - jokingly asked her to replace Victoria Beckham for their next tour.
Halliwell-Horner then revealed to the outlet the Spice Girls name she would give the Skims founder. “She deserves something really good. She deserves something like Inner Strength Spice. I think she’s Smart Spice. She’s smart,” she said.
“It’s brilliant that you’re beautiful from the outside, but also she’s beautiful with a book in her back pocket,” the Rosie Frost and The Falcon Queen author continued. “I love that. We can be all things. Good for her!”
The former Spice Girl added that the reality TV star was “amazing” and a “very good role model,” saying: “She’s smart. She’s really been inspiring the way she’s turned that business around and also for women to celebrate your curves. I really like that about her.”
Last week’s episode of The Kardashians followed Kardashian visiting London with her seven-year-old son Saint West and his friends for the start of a European soccer trip that would include jetting off to Paris to watch the Paris Saint-Germain team play.
During a car ride through London with some of the other moms, she shared that, when she was younger, she had dressed up as a Spice Girl - Posh Spice to be specific - for a school talent show. The beauty mogul said: “I was Victoria. I was Posh, duh.”
She then recalled the moment during which Mel C had jokingly asked her to join the girl group. She said on the show: “Sporty Spice wrote a book and signed it inside and she sent it to me saying that they’re going on tour and they need a Posh and would I be the Posh?”
She continued: “I mean, I’m sure she was joking. But like, when I was in high school, would I ever have thought that this was, like, a thing? I’m just, like, a girl from high school that loved the Spice Girls and now they’re asking me?”
As it turns out, Kardashian has become friends with her favourite Spice Girl, with Beckham posting a birthday tribute in honour of the reality star turning 43 on 21 October. The fashion designer shared a photo on her Instagram Story posing with Kim and Isabela Grutman, wishing her a happy birthday and writing: “Kisses xxxxx.”
Over the past few years, the unexpected pair have shown public support for each other, including hanging out in Miami in July of this year. Kardashian also attended Beckham’s Paris fashion show last month alongside Anna Wintour, and the former Spice Girl’s husband David Beckham, and their children.
