Last week, a Reddit user called Denver uploaded a photo of his grandmother Geraldine Dodd to the social networking site in a post titled “My Grandma Looked Like Scarlett Johansson When She Was Younger”.
The picture, which was taken in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1967, has now gone viral having been viewed more than there million times and even made its way to Johansson herself.
In a video message on Wednesday, the Avengers actress addressed “Grandma Geraldine” saying she has been inundated with emails about her new doppelganger.
“I had to look at the photo myself,” she said. “Holy crap! I want to meet you in person.”
Ms Dodd told her grandson she was as “drunk as a skunk” when the photo was taken leading Johansson to invite Geraldine to be her plus one at the premier of her new film Rough Night.
“I would like to see your drunk face,” the actress said. “I want to share a drunk face with you. Let’s have a drink Geraldine.”
Ms Dodd, 72, told Time she will take Johansson up on the offer and plans to “drink her under the table”.
