Once the Oscars awards ceremony is over, the stars in attendance typically flock to after-parties, where they debut extravagant outfit changes and party the night away.

This year, however, one notable individual was absent as she was supporting her friend in hospital instead.

On Tuesday, a couple of days after the Academy Awards took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Salma Hayek shared a series of photographs on Instagram detailing how her night panned out.

The actor revealed that rather than attend an after-party, she accompanied her manager to the hospital after her friend suffered a wrist injury.

“As the parties were just getting started my date, friend, and manager, Evelyn O’Neill had a little accident, and I had to rush her to the ER where we spent the rest of the Oscar night until the sun came up,” Hayek wrote in the caption.

“Thank you to the doctors and the staff of Cedars-Sinai for your professionalism and kindness.”

Hayek concluded her caption by expressing the reverence she felt towards O’Neill.

“And Evelyn, I’ve never seen anyone take so much pain with so much grace! You are a champ. #brave #champions,” the 53-year-old stated.

Several celebrities commented on Hayek’s post wishing O’Neill better.

“Oh no! I hope she’s better now,” wrote Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot.

“Chic #champions,” commented Lindsay Lohan, while Julianne Moore remarked: “Oh no.”

Prior to O’Neill’s accident, Hayek attended the Oscars award ceremony wearing an angelic, one-shoulder Gucci gown, accessorising with a silver headpiece and matching bangles.

The actor presented the award for Best Sound Editing alongside Star Wars actor Oscar Isaac.

As she arrived on stage, Hayek quipped: “I can now officially say that I’ve held an Oscar on this stage.”

Isaac responded by stating: “Congratulations, Oscars not so white now.”
