Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Drag make-up requires a heavy hand and a certain level of skill - as evident on RuPaul’s Drag Race, where drag queens show-off layers of lashes and expert contouring.
And now the most beloved of the drag queens, RuPaul himself, has announced he will be releasing a cosmetic line in collaboration with Mally Beauty.
Famous for his flawless make-up and for coaching other drag queens on RuPaul’s Drag Race, the tv show host will be offering his expertise to the beauty industry.
The new line, Mally x RuPaul, was announced on Mally Beauty’s Instagram and will feature 10 to 12 products.
In the press release, Mally Roncal, the founder of the US beauty brand, said of the collaboration: “Ru has always stayed true to who he is and unapologetically puts himself out there. He exemplifies self-acceptance and has inspired and taught millions of people to love themselves. This seamlessly blends with Mally Beauty’s mantra: What makes you different makes you beautiful!”
And RuPaul is equally as excited. In the press release, he said: “I love Mally. Her approach to make-up is exemplified by her personality; smart, sexy, fun, and beautiful. I really dig this woman!”
However, this isn’t the first time Ru has dabbled in cosmetics. In 1994, the drag queen made history when he was the first spokesperson ever for MAC Cosmetics and the first drag queen ever to land a major beauty campaign.
The release date for the collaboration has not yet been announced but people already cannot wait.
“All of my dreams are coming true,” wrote one person on Mally Beauty’s post.
Another said: “Take all of my money.”
Unfortunately, Mally Beauty does not ship to the UK but the brand is available through QVC.
