Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

To mark the release of Formula 1 '97, Psygnosis has teamed up with the Jordan Formula 1 team to produce some exclusive limited-edition merchandise, including a specially customised PlayStation, sprayed by Jordan in their team colours, which you have a chance to win.

"Formula 1 '97" is the sequel to 1995's million-selling game "Formula 1" and was designed with technical supervision from the Jordan team to help make it the most authentic Grand Prix simulation ever for PlayStation and CD-ROM formats.

The game features all the drivers and track venues of the current 1997 championship, and features dual commentary from the voices of Formula 1 racing, Murray Walker and Martin Brundle. Having mastered the basic driving techniques, you can rev through the difficulty levels by introducing pit stops, tyre changes, complex race tactics and even two-player head-to-heads on the split-screen option in your quest to be World Champion.

Our first prize is a specially customised PlayStation, sprayed in the Jordan colours by the Jordan team. This is an unpurchasable collector's item. Second prize is an exclusive F1 '97 mountain bike, again sprayed in the Jordan colours. Third prize is a limited-edition Jordan/Formula 1 T-shirt and a copy of "Formula 1 '97" in the PlayStation format (first and second prize winners will also receive a copy of "Formula 1 '97" and a T-shirt). Ten runners-up will win a copy of "Formula 1 '97".

To enter, answer this question: Who is Gian Carlo Fisichella's team- mate in the Jordan team? Send your details to: Eye/Formula 1 '97 Competition, 12 Barley Mow Passage, London, W4 4PH.

Winners will be chosen from all correct entries received by 26 Sept. First entry picked out wins first prize and so on.
