Piers Morgan has weighed in after an unedited picture of Khloe Kardashian, posted on the internet and later removed, sparked a conversation about the reality of online images.

Writing in his MailOnline column, Morgan referenced the unedited photo of 36-year-old Khloe that was reportedly posted by mistake.

The picture, which many online have said looks “beautiful” shows the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star looking more natural than in images typically shared on her social media pages. In the unedited image, she is bare-faced, posing in a bikini with her hair in a ponytail.

He wrote: “I didn’t think there was anything left in the world of the Kardashians that could possibly shock me. But I was wrong.

“The photo of Khloé Kardashian in a leopard print bikini that’s gone viral this week is truly jaw-dropping. Because it’s real.

“No filters, no airbrushing, little make-up, hair scraped back in a ponytail - just a picture of how Ms Kardashian actually looks.”

The former Good Morning Britain presenter accused the Kardashian family of looking so perfect “by faking it” adding, “all the Kardashians have been doing for years.”

He said: “With one carelessly released genuine photo, the scam’s been blown.”

Members of the Kardashian family, including sisters Kim and Kylie, have previously faced accusations of altering their pictures and have been criticised for promoting unrealistic beauty standards.

Morgan noted that in the past week, Khloe had shared 12 bikini pictures on her Instagram account, which has 136 million followers. He claimed each of them had been “substantially worked on”.

Morgan continued: “By comparison to all her heavily enhanced, carefully-staged glamour publicity photos, her waistline is significantly less defined, her curves less dramatic and her skin not so impossibly smooth.

“It’s Khloe unvarnished, flaws and all. And the photo was utterly horrifying. Not to me, I hasten to add.

“I thought she looked as refreshingly normal as I’ve ever seen any of the Kardashians. No, it was utterly horrifying to HER.”

Khloe Kardashian shared a response to the image on Wednesday, saying: “In truth, the pressure, constant ridicule and judgement my entire life to be perfect and to meet other’s standards of how I should look has been too much to bear.

“‘Khloe is the fat sister.’ ‘Khloe is the ugly sister’. ‘Her dad must not be her real dad because she looks so different’.”
