Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Sung in Italian with English supertitles, Puccini’s masterpiece La bohème and a brand new production of Donizetti’s hilarious Don Pasquale will be presented by some of the opera world’s brightest rising stars, wrapped in Glyndebourne’s trademark quality. ‘Simply the greatest all-round opera experience’ says BBC Music magazine.
La Boheme – Tuesday 29 November and Friday 2 December, 7.15pm
A genius of emotional manipulation, Puccini's exploration of the joy, anguish and heartbreak of young love has become one of the most popular operas of all time. Glyndebourne on Tour returns with David McVicar's acclaimed production - a very modern love story which adds a worldly realism to Puccini's heartbreaking score.
Don Pasquale – Wednesday 30 November and Saturday 3 December, 7.15pm
A double first: a new production and a new opera for the Tour. Internationally acclaimed director Mariame Clément tackles Donizetti's witty critique of domestic bliss. Don’t miss Andrei Bondarenko as the doctor, Malatesta – the Ukrainian baritone made the final of BBC Cardiff Singer of the World in June, winning the Song Prize.
