Madame Tussauds has unveiled a new wax figure meant to resemble Nicki Minaj, but fans are convinced the figurine does not look anything like the rapper.

The wax figure, which debuted in Berlin, Germany, this week, is modelled after the rapper’s appearance in her Anaconda music video.

But while the wax rendition of the rapper appears to be authentic in terms of outfit, with the Minaj figure dressed in gold chains and gold heels, people have expressed confusion over its facial features and skin colour.

“That’s a wax sculpture of a white woman. Nicki Minaj is very much a black woman,” one person wrote on Twitter.

Another said: “This looks almost nothing like Nicki.”

“This isn’t Nicki Minaj, this reminds me of a character in Mortal Kombat,” someone else wrote. “Madame Tussauds has always gotten it right with their wax figures. What happened this time around?”

Others joked that the wax figure is what happens “when you buy generic instead of name brand” while some questioned whether the artists at Madame Tussauds know about the existence of Google.

This is not the first time a wax figurine by the museum has been unveiled to backlash.

Last year, Madame Tussauds London debuted a figure of Ariana Grande to the confusion of fans, who called the rendition “actually offensive.''
