A mother-of-two has pleaded for advice after discovering that her husband and daughter are in a sexual relationship.

The devastated woman sought help from fellow Mumsnet users with a post that has since been deleted. Here, she expressed concerns about whether or not the relationship should be considered ‘moral incest'/

Sharing her story, the mum explained that she’d had her first child when she was very young and went on to marry her ex-partner when her daughter was just 11-years-old.

Though he never legally adopted her, the man raised her daughter as his own. She even changed her surname to her stepfather’s and called him ‘dad’ for more than 20 years, the Daily Mail reports.

What’s more, the daughter now has a young son of her own who refers to him as ‘Pappy’ – as in grandfather.

“It just feels so wrong on every level,' she wrote.

“I know biologically it's not incest, but morally it feels like it. I'm in total shock and haven't been able to speak to them since.”

Horrified by her story, other Mumsnet users rallied round to comfort the distressed woman but voiced their concerns about when the relationship might have started.

“I would be wondering what he was feeling when he was looking at her, or hugging her as a child,” one woman wrote.

Another agreed adding, “I would want to know exactly how and when it started and when he first became sexually attracted to her. There is a good chance she has been groomed.”

Others however insisted that the woman should tread carefully in case her daughter needs to turn to her for support.

“You must be distraught. I would keep lines open with her, be neutral and stay ready to help her,” they said.

Less shocked, other women came forward to reveal that while this woman’s story is appalling, it’s a situation not unheard of.

“I’m horrified to admit that I know someone who left his wife for her daughter after he’d raised her as a stepdaughter from the age of two,” one woman confessed.
