Is the mullet hairstyle making a comeback? Judging by this hairstylist’s Instagram, it appears so.

John Vial, the co-founder of Salon Sloane, in London, posted the interesting take on the mullet to his Instagram - and people have some opinions.

Uploaded with the caption “Sunday styling!” the carved mullet recreation has brought the outdated hairstyle back to life - maybe.

Featuring long blonde hair, with longer strands in the front, Vial’s version of the mullet has sharp edges, a mushroom-type short-bang front, and some serious volume.

But despite the unusual style, it appears people love the new look.

Of the 179 comments on the picture, a majority are positive.

One person wrote: “Hair goals,” which may actually be sarcasm.

Another said: “Innovation wow.”

“Wow!!! Amazing John,” wrote another fan of the unorthodox style.

However, this isn’t the first time Vial has taken risks with his clients’ hair.

Other styles featured on his Instagram show off varieties of colours - and more bizarre haircuts.

But regardless of whether you hate or love the new aerodynamic mullet - you can’t help but stare at it.

And it appears the client loves her new do - she uploaded a picture of the futuristic haircut with a caption thanking John.

The Independent has reached out to Vial for comment.
