Jay Leno will be the star guest of the fifth Boca Raton Concours d' Elegance, one of the most prestigious automotive events in the US. DuPont sponsors the annual Hangar Party, a veritable who's who of car enthusiasts, while the new "Legends of Indy" exhibition celebrates 100 years of the Indianapolis 500.

Car Design of the Year Awards

Awarded by Car Design Magazine, the Car Design of the Year Awards recognize excellence in car design across both concept and production vehicles over the last year. The Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Nissan Juke and Range Rover Evoque are some of the models in the running.

World Car of the Year Award finalists announced

A shortlist of ten candidates will be whittled down to three contenders for the World Car of the Year award, which is awarded at the New York International Auto Show in April. At the same time, finalists in the World Performance Car of the Year category are announced.

81st Geneva International Motor Show

The first major show of the year in Europe, Geneva traditionally hosts unveilings from a raft of high-profile European automakers, and manufacturers from other countries. This year's show emphasizes the environment, with a 3,000 sq. meter Green Pavilion and Green Test Drives using environmentally-friendly cars. Over 690,000 visitors attended in 2010.

16th Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance

The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance is ranked among the top four competitions in the US, attracting classic car fans from across the country. This year's event features Duesenberg, Allard and Kurtis vehicles and Indy 500 star Bobby Rahal is the honorary chairman.

Bahrain Grand Prix (cancelled)
March 13
Sakhir Circuit, Bahrain
Due to unrest in the region, the Bahrain Grand Prix has been cancelled. The 2011 season now begins in Australia in Melbourne, which gets underway March 27. Pre-season testing, which has taken place in Barcelona, will finish with a final round March 8-11.
