Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

A Car for the head

The issue here is that Ash has found that PCPs seem to be getting a lot more expensive, so he wants to get out of the scheme he is in and to a buy a car outright. This choice must be good to drive, but the badge is very important too. For that reason let’s go for a BMW X5. These are great to drive, are very reliable and there are lots to choose from – and, yes, we own one. We found a 2008 3.0 M Sport with 60,000 miles, a full service history for and a huge specification, all for £13,995.

A Car for the heart

What Ash may enjoy a lot more is a vehicle with a Porsche badge on the bonnet. The Cayenne soon became the best selling Porsche, and quite rightly too. It is a high rise 911 which makes it just about the fastest 4x4, and the way it performs and handles is more like a sports car than any other 4x4, with sharp steering and incredible composure and agility for such a big car. A 2007 Porsche Cayenne 3.6 with 84,000 miles and just one owner after the dealer with a full service history at £10,995.
