Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The Chevrolet Camaro was given the inaugural SEMA Award at the Las Vegas show on November 2, with judges deeming it the most accessory-friendly model after calculating the vehicle's prevalence in booths at the automotive equipment event.
It beat a host of other challengers on show, including the Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang and Subaru Impreza, along with other commonly-seen vehicles such as the Kia Soul and Ford Fiesta.
The Ford F-Series won Hottest Truck and the Jeep Wrangler took Hottest 4x4-SUV, as both were judged to be the most influential vehicles in their categories.
"A booth space is a ballot, and the models these exhibitors have selected represent their vote," said Chris Kersting, SEMA president and CEO.
Although the SEMA Show isn't open to the public, it's a place where automakers and auto accessory companies can show off their latest products to the trade before they hit showrooms or shelves.
Over 1,900 companies are exhibiting at this year's event, which runs November 2 - 5 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
