Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

GM has unveiled the new Cadillac CTS Coupe, due for delivery in the spring of 2010, as it returns to the LA show with an expanded presence from last year. The two-door model will feature a 3.6L V-6 engine delivering 306 horsepower and is two inches (51mm) lower and shorter than its CTS Sport Sedan cousin. The CTS Coupe will be available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, and Cadillac claims that it will deliver fuel efficiency of 27 mpg (8.7L/100 km) on the highway. Cadillac has not yet confirmed whether the model will be available outside of the US, although previous CTS models have been made available worldwide.
Porsche has also released images of the 2011 Spyder, which weighs in at 2811 pounds and will be the lightest Porsche available on the market. Combined with a 3.4L engine delivering 320 horsepower, the lightweight Porsche will be able to go from 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. It will be available in international markets from February 2010.
The pictures of the CTS Coupe and 2011 Boxster Spyder are early previews in a series of world debuts expected at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Other brands expected to unveil models include Dodge, Honda, Toyota and Volkswagen.
