Your support makes all the difference.Californian-based electric vehicle maker Coda Automotive confirmed the price of its new EV September 21, pricing it above competing vehicles from Nissan and General Motors.
The four-door Coda Sedan will retail at $44,900/€33,775, with federal tax savings expected to bring the price down by $7,500/€5,642 to $37,400/€28,133 (further Californian incentives could bring it down to $33,400/€25,124).
The $44,900 MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price) is far more than the $32,780/€24,658 Nissan LEAF or the $41,000/€30,841 Chevrolet Volt, which are both eligible for similar tax credits.
Coda Automotive says that its sedan will offer a range of up to 120 miles (193 km) and at least 30 percent more usable energy than the Nissan LEAF, which has a range of around 100 miles (161 km).
Its battery warranty, like those of the LEAF and the Volt, is eight years or 100,000 miles.
Coda opened $499/€375 pre-orders for the vehicle September 21, with two showrooms set to open in Santa Monica and the San Francisco Bay Area to enable customers to pick up their vehicles when they become available in December.
Additional technology includes satellite, FM and AM radio, iPod and USB connectivity, a GreenScreen system to monitor driving efficiency and a one-touch roadside assistance and accident notification system.
