Citroen and Chevrolet have released further details of the new models they intend to launch at Auto Shanghai next week, both confirming that they will stream the premieres live days before the event opens to the public.
Citroen has released a teaser image of its new DS5 concept, the latest addition to the upmarket DS range which has helped the French automaker carve a name for itself with urban luxury-lovers.
Widely believed to be a crossover form based on the C5 wagon, the DS5 will be the third DS model and although the Shanghai unveil will likely be a concept, it will heavily hint at the future form of the vehicle ahead of an official launch later this year.
Citroen released the image on its Facebook page, confirming that it will livestream the unveiling via Facebook on April 18.
General Motors-owned Chevrolet also released further details of its new Malibu, set to be sold in nearly 100 countries on six continents.
The 2013 Malibu is believed to have a new range of four cylinder engines and a line of six-speed transmissions, with a design which is more aggressive and athletic than the current model.
It will be the first midsize car that Chevrolet sells on a global basis and is expected to become a familiar fixture on roads internationally - the current Malibu was General Motors' best-selling car in 2010.
Like Citroen, Chevrolet will also livestream the April 18 event across various mediums, including a high-definition feed at the official website and players on the brand's Facebook page and mobile devices.
Auto Shanghai is open to the public April 21-28 in Shanghai, China.
