Miranda Kerr has congratulated her ex-husband Orlando Bloom and his fiancée Katy Perry on the birth of their newborn daughter Daisy Dove.

On Thursday, the couple announced the arrival of their daughter via the Unicef Instagram, which shared a photo of Perry and Bloom holding the infant’s hand.

“Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom! We are honoured to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors @KatyPerry and @OrlandoBloom’s new bundle of joy,” the caption read, adding that Bloom and Perry said: “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter.”

Bloom then reposted the photo on his own Instagram account, where he and Perry received an outpouring of well-wishes.

In the comments, Kerr, who shares nine-year-old son Flynn with the Lord of the Rings actor, who she was married to from 2010 to 2013, wrote: “I’m so happy for you guys.”

The mother-of-three added: “Can’t wait to meet her.”

Fellow celebrities including Millie Bobby Brown and Justin Theroux also shared congratulatory messages.

“Yay!!! Congratulations so happy for you guys,” Brown wrote.

Theroux commented: “DAISSSYYYY!!! WELCOME!! And love to both Mama and Papa.”

In addition to announcing the birth of their daughter, Perry and Bloom also took the opportunity to advocate for better healthcare for new and expectant mothers in the statement shared by Unicef.

“We know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was,” the couple wrote. “Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every 11 seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes.

“Since Covid-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathise with struggling parents now more than ever.

“As Unicef Goodwill Ambassadors, we know Unicef is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare.”

The celebrity couple also announced they had set up a donation page in their daughter’s name “in celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has”.

Earlier this month, Perry opened up about the love she has for Kerr and Bloom’s son during an appearance on Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.

“I have a baby on the way. I have a fiancé. I love my nieces. I love my soon-to-be stepson. I love life,” she said.
