Matthew Perry has become the final member of the Friends ensemble to join Instagram, amid speculation that a reunion may be in the works.

On Thursday, Lisa Kudrow, who played the whimsical Phoebe Buffay on the 10-year sitcom, shared a throwback picture of herself with Perry on the social media platform.

The photograph was likely taken circa 1994 to 1996, based on Perry’s curtained hairstyle, which his character Chandler Bing had during the first two seasons of the show.

Kudrow referenced one of her most memorable Friends lines in the caption, writing: “Finally!!! Yay!! Can’t believe my eyes MY EYES. Welcome to Instagram @mattyperry4 #friendsforlife.”

A couple more of the core Friends cast also celebrated Perry’s arrival on Instagram in the post’s comment section.

“Yes Matty!!!” wrote Courteney Cox, who portrayed Perry’s on-screen wife Monica Geller.

“Yay Matty! Could you TAKE any longer?” commented Jennifer Aniston, mimicking the way in which Perry would frequently deliver on his lines on the television programme.

As of Friday, Perry has already accumulated 1.7m Instagram followers, despite having not shared any posts.

However, he has personalised his bio, which reads: “What is this, my Instagram account?”

The actor is currently following 21 Instagram accounts, including those of his Friends castmates.

On Thursday, Perry peaked the interest of his Twitter followers when he shared a mysterious statement on Twitter, writing: “Big news coming.”

This announcement led many to speculate that a Friends reunion may be in the works, more than 15 years after the show ended.

“Reunion??? Its 2020 and everyone including Emma has woken up from their nap!!!” one person stated.

According to Deadline, the six-strong ensemble are expected to reunite in an hour-long special on HBO Max, after reportedly coming to an agreement.

In October, Aniston, who played the ever-stylish Rachel Green on Friends, marked her arrival on Instagram by sharing a selfie with her former Friends co-stars.

“And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM,” the SAG Award-winning actor wrote in the caption.

The post currently has more than 15.7m likes, while Aniston’s following has reached 27m.

Earlier this year, Aniston reunited with her ex-husband Brad Pitt backstage at the SAG Awards, following both of their accolade wins.
