Cardi B has revealed that her husband, Offset, bought her a $20,500 (£14,810) handbag for Valentine’s Day.

On Sunday, the rapper posted a video on Instagram of the gold birdcage handbag, which is from Chanel.

The birdcage bag is from the luxury French label’s pre-fall 2020 collection and features diamonds wrapped around the top and bottom with a drawstring leather bag inside the gold birdcage structure.

The bottom of the bag also features pearls and the iconic “CC” interlocking logo.

The exterior of the cage itself also features two golden bird structures.

In Cardi B’s video, the rapper picks the bag up by its gold chain strap and is heard saying: “what the f***? Crazy”.

She also shows the $20,500 price tag to the camera.

In the caption, she wrote: “Wow Thank you baby @offsetyrn. You always getting me something different. Love and appreciate you.”

The video has since been watched more than 2.5m times, with thousands of people commenting below.

“I’m too poor to even know what that is but it’s cute,” one person commented.

“Why do you have to show the price tag?” another asked.

Many took issue with the excessive price of the handbag.

One person commented: “I hope you’re also helping redistribute wealth and opportunity behind the scenes, so your fans that are struggling to feed their families don’t become embittered by this inequitable distribution of wealth. Love you Cardi.”

Another person wrote: “It’s sad that people spend that much on stupid things. I would have liked for him to have donated to a poor town in my name.”

The lavish gift comes after Cardi B said that men should spend more than women on Valentine’s Day gifts.

On Thursday, the 28-year-old tweeted: “Men do deserve to get gift as well for Valentine’s Day, but the gift have to be less expensive then the girls gift. Soo if he buys you flowers you buy him grass.”
