Kourtney Kardashian has shared an article about being autosexual on her lifestyle website, Poosh.

The 41-year-old entrepreneur published the piece this week. It begins by asking: “Are you autosexual?

"The short answer is yes, most likely. In fact, we all are, at least a little."

The article carries an interview with therapist and founder of QueerSexTherapy, Casey Tanner, who defines autosexuality as “a trait wherein one is turned on by engaging in their own eroticism”.

“A prime example of this is simply women in general,” the article, which simply has “Poosh” as its byline, continues.

“While it may not be true for everyone, we generally feel more sexual and turned on when we feel we ourselves are sexy. But it’s not just about the ladies.”

The piece states that masturbation is “the most obvious example” of autosexuality but that it can also extend into “feeling a longing or desire for oneself”.

The article goes on to give examples of autosexuality behaviours, such as wearing lingerie and doing your hair and makeup.

“It could mean washing yourself lovingly in the bath and genuinely enjoying your body,” it adds.

“It could mean dancing in the mirror in a cute outfit. If feeling sexy independent of someone else has ever turned you on, that’s autosexuality, and it’s totally normal.”

On Dictionary.com, the term “autosexual” is defined as “a term for sexual attraction to oneself, especially a preference for masturbation over sexual intercourse".

Kardashian launched Poosh in 2019 as a “modern guide to living your best life” that many have compared to Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop empire.

The website features articles on health and wellness, lifestyle and entertainment, while also featuring a shopping section.
