Fans are expressing their disappointment with Lizzo after the singer shared a complaint about her food delivery experience on social media.

On Monday, the 31-year-old singer tweeted that a Postmates employee had stolen the food she ordered after marking it as delivered.

“Hey @Postmates this girl Tiffany W stole my food,” Lizzo wrote in a now-deleted tweet. “She lucky I don’t fight no more.”

The singer also included a screenshot of the Postmates app, which included in a photo of the courier.

Postmates responded by apologising for the “less than satisfactory experience” and asking the rapper to provide more details, to which Lizzo responded: “I dm’d [direct messaged] you.”

While Lizzo’s tweet prompted the delivery service to respond to the incident, it also sparked criticism among the Truth Hurts singer’s fans, who took offence with the public shaming of the courier.

“Lizzo you’re a multi-millionaire, what are you doing?” one person wrote on Twitter. “You know how much Postmates contractors make? Whatever you’re thinking it’s even less than that.”

Others criticised the star for potentially putting the Postmates courier in danger by tweeting out a photo of her to Lizzo’s more than 968,000 followers.

“Posting her picture and name to the internet instead of reporting her to Postmates (who presumably has some sort of system in place for that type of thing) is kind of dangerous though,” another person tweeted.

The backlash eventually prompted Lizzo to apologise for publicly shaming the Postmates courier.

“I apologise for putting that girl on blast,” she wrote on Twitter. “I understand I have a large following and that there were so many variables that could’ve put her in danger. Imma really be more responsible with my use of social media and check my petty and my pride at the door.”

It is not clear if Postmates took action against the employee in question.
