Lily Collins has announced that she and boyfriend Charlie McDowell are engaged.
On Friday, the 31-year-old shared the news by posting a series of photos on Instagram, one of which showed the moment McDowell got down on one knee during what looked like a trip to a national park.
In another image the couple could be seen sharing a kiss, while a third featured a close-up of the gold engagement ring with a colourless rose-cut diamond.
“I’ve been waiting my lifetime for you and I can’t wait to spend our lifetime together…,” Collins captioned the post.
In a second post, the Mirror Mirror star shared a photo of her smiling as she flaunted the ring, writing: “The purest joy I’ve ever felt...”
McDowell announced the news on his own Instagram by sharing the same image.
“In a time of uncertainty and darkness you have illuminated my life,” he wrote in the caption.
“I will forever cherish my adventure with you.’
A number of the couple’s celebrity friends congratulated them on their engagement inn the comments including singer Ciara who wrote: “Soooo happy for you! Love you Li Li boo! What a special day.”
Actor Ashley Tisdale also commented: “Congrats!!!!” while Queer Eye star Tan France added: “OMG I couldn’t be happier for you. What great news.”
The couple began dating in 2019, with Collins confirming their relationship in August 2019 when she shared a photo of her and McDowell in Paris.
