Kim Kardashian West has spoken out about the moment she was robbed in Paris in October 2016, describing it as the “scariest” thing she’s ever experienced.

The reality TV star recalled the incident in a new episode of E! True Hollywood Story, explaining how robbers broke into her bedroom and stole millions of dollars worth of her jewellery, including the $4m (£3.2m) 20-carat engagement ring bought by her husband Kanye West.

“Right as I was about to fall asleep, I heard guys running up the stairs,” Kardashian West said.

“They wanted my ring and my jewellery, so I didn’t fight back. I just gave them everything and they tied me up.”

The 38-year-old went on to explain how, after the robbers had tied her up in her bathroom, she was left fearing for her life.

“They wrapped duct tape over my eyes and my mouth,” she said. “It was the scariest thing I’ve ever been through in my entire life, just thinking that, you know, you’re about to die.”

Kardashian West continued: “You’re just kind of bracing yourself for the moment that they’re going to shoot you and kill you. That 10 minutes really changed my whole life.”

Kanye West, who also featured in the programme, said that he tries not to think about the robbery because he finds it too traumatic.

There are a lot of thoughts running through my head, related to that time,” he said. “I don’t like to watch those movies. Memories are movies in your mind – I like to watch the happy ones.”

Following the robbery, it was reported that Kardashian West's insurance company was suing her former bodyguard, Pascal Duvier, who was responsible for her safety at the time.
