Katie Holmes has expressed a unique reaction to Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden choosing Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate.

On Tuesday, Holmes reacted to the news on Instagram, where she posted a photo of herself in a black dress leaning against what appears to be a bathroom sink with her head thrown back in bliss.

“#BidenHarris2020,” the 41-year-old captioned the photo.

The actress’s suggestive response prompted a range of reactions on social media, with many of her followers wondering what the picture has to do with the upcoming presidential race.

“So unclear what’s happening here,” one person commented.

Another said: “Strange photo for the moment.”

Others shared their displeasure at Holmes’ support for the Democratic nominees, with many of the commenters responding with some version of “Trump 2020.”

“This is a disgusting choice of a picture to go with a disgusting candidate,” one follower wrote.

However, there were also some who applauded Holmes’ sexually charged response, including fellow actress Zoe Kravitz and TV writer Jenni Konner.

“Yassssss,” Kravitz wrote, while Konner said it was her “fav post.”

According to Vanity Fair, the picture in question, which sees Holmes dressed in a Valentino dress, is from the actress’s April 2020 InStyle cover shoot photographed by Sebastian Faena.

While the connection between the caption and the photo remains unclear, InStyle’s editor-in-chief Laura Brown shared her approval, commenting: “#communityservice” with a laughing face emoji.

The confusion over Holmes’ post comes after fans also questioned why she had shared a video of what appeared to be a baby turtle being eaten by a large fish earlier in the week.

“Too cute,” the Dawson’s Creek star captioned the clip, prompting horrified reactions in the comments.

“Um that’s sad! The fish ate that little baby turtle!” one person attempted to point out, while another said: “Um did a shark just eat the cute thing?”

While Holmes’ reaction to Biden’s pick for vice president may be odd, she is not the only celebrity to share her support for the Democratic ticket, as many others including John Legend, Taylor Swift, Mindy Kaling and Amy Schumer all celebrated the announcement.
