Jenna Bush Hager tried to play Cupid for Lenny Kravitz and Hoda Kotb.

Fresh off his 2024 MTV VMAs performance, Kravitz, 60, joined the two Today co-anchors on September 12, singing in front of a live audience for the show’s Citi Concert Series. And while this wasn’t the first time the rock legend and Kotb had met, Hager thought the pair looked more pleased than usual to be together.

Pictures from the show featured Kotb and Kravitz holding hands and smiling together. The “I Want to Get Away” singer wore his emblem black sunglasses, a see-through shirt, dark denim, and a classic leather jacket. Meanwhile, the 60-year-old journalist donned leather pants and an embroidered jacket – one Hager teased her about.

“This is new, this little top,” Kotb told Hager after she quipped about her co-host’s special outfit. The “Again” singer joined in on the joke by saying Kotb went into his closet and took the leather outfit from him.

“She thinks she’s slick. I heard her last night! I heard the door open,” he laughed. “I was trying to get a nap in… and the light turned on in the closet, and I was missing some pants this morning.”

Kotb and Hager went on about how “hot” and “kind” Kravitz is. “He’s got it all. He lives in the Bahamas, he’s barefoot, he makes music, he meditates,” Kotb added, prompting Hager to announce: “I know somebody else that meditates, and wears leather, and doesn’t live in the Bahamas but would like to.”

When asked whether he was seeking romance and looking for love, Kravitz confessed: “That’s interesting… I mean, always. Love is all there is.”

The music icon has had a fair share of relationships from Lisa Bonet to Adriana Lima. Kravitz and Bonet tied the knot in 1987, six years before they decided to part ways.

As for Kotb’s relationship history, the on-screen star got engaged to Joel Schiffman after eight years of dating. However, the pair ultimately canceled their plans to spend the rest of their lives together. Before Schiffman, Kotb was married to Burzis Kanga from 2005 to 2008.

Though Kotb hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to finding the right partner, she’s been notoriously open about her experiences. In a July 2023 conversation with Andy Cohen, she explained how “easy” it is to share details on positive relationships.

“I think what you find is it’s easier to share when everything’s great and it’s so much fun because you love, love and it’s such a beautiful time in life,” she admitted. “Then, when things don’t go the way that you want them to, you sort of feel a little cornered. But I think you should also talk about that part.

“And, you know, sometimes, some people aren’t meant to go the whole ride with you,” Kotb pointed out.

That said, could Kravitz be the one “to go the whole ride” with her?
