By now we’ve become somewhat experts in the art of the selfie. It requires picture-perfect lighting, a precise pose that involves looking up toward the camera with your head extended away from your neck and a very particular phone angle.
But, thanks to the launch of the highly anticipated iPhone X, selfies are becoming easier to execute than ever before. In fact, according to some its users, its camera is a little too perfect.
The phone – which went on general sale on Friday – has been hailed for its “true depth camera” which offers the capacity to shoot photos from the front-facing camera with the Portrait Lighting capabilities only found on the rear cameras on the iPhone 8 Plus.
But, while a tool which means you can shoot selfies with a depth-of-field effect might sound like a great idea, not everyone is convinced.
Sharing their disdain on Twitter, people are saying that the ultra-high quality of the iPhone X camera is so crisp that it’s actually making them feel “ugly”.
“The iphone x camera makes me a little uncomfortable idk if i wanna see myself, or anyone else for that matter, that clearly,” one person tweeted.
Another said, “I’m going to need all my friends to switch to Android, I am way too ugly for this new iPhone X camera.”
One user summed up their feelings perfectly, adding, “I wouldn’t have much use for the iphone X. That camera is too good man all anyone would see is my dry a** skin and bags under my eyes in perfect HD quality.”
Arguably a result one would expect from a phone that’s going to set you back £1,000, it seems not everyone is pleased with the state-of-the-art technology that’s crammed into its front-facing camera.
