From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The latest offering from interiors goals brand H&M Home is set to be designed by none other than Belgian fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg – a welcome addition to its line of popular collaborations.
Infamous for that wrap dress, Fürstenberg has switched her focus from fashion garments to the world of home furnishings. And just in time too, as the UK heads towards a winter that will be spent predominantly inside – with many looking for interiors inspiration.
The range – which will be called “H&M Home x Diane von Fürstenberg” – isn’t set to drop until 2021, so get your home plans in order for the new year.
It will bring the international fashion designer’s much-loved vibrant prints into the interiors world, from vases, cushion covers to blankets and candles, and much more.
“I’m thrilled to be collaborating with H&M Home, especially since I have such a passion for interiors,” the designer has said in a statement.
“The home is both a relaxing and empowering place where you can really ‘own’ a look or feel. With this collaboration, I want people to take charge of their home decor. The only rule I have is that your home should reflect who you are. The main point is to create a space that you’re incredibly comfortable in and is a true expression of your personality,” she added.
“Diane von Furstenberg’s vast archive of prints, along with von Furstenberg’s life experience as a successful and creative woman, has been a joy to bring to the world of interiors for H&M Home customers around the world,” the interiors brand has added in a statement.
The coronavirus pandemic has led to a much larger focus on interiors, after various lockdown and social distancing measures led to much more time spent inside our houses than ever before.
“For many people the start of lockdown was the first time they saw their homes during the [working] day and really had to spend time interacting with their decor choices,” explains Kate Watson-Smyth, founder of interiors blog Mad About The House and author of 101 Interior Design Answers.
