Your support makes all the difference. In September 2020, Zayn Malik and his girlfriend Gigi Hadid announced the birth of their first child, daughter Khai.
Since then, the pair have kept a relatively low profile as they enjoy private time with their new baby. But, in a recent interview, Malik has spoken about life as a first-time father. Speaking to hosts on US radio show Valentine In The Morning, the singer talked about quality time with his daughter.
“I just love spending my days with her, hanging out with her, and just doing really relaxing and chill stuff with her. I’m watching kids shows with her on TV and on Netflix, learning nursery rhymes, rolling around with her, and just singing to her. It’s a really different pace of life, but it’s been really easy to adjust to,” he said.
The Bradford-born 28-year-old rose to global fame as one of the members of boyband One Direction. Since the band’s split in 2015, he has moved to the United States and is enjoying a successful solo career as he starts a family.
Malik says he regularly sings to his daughter. “I kind of make stuff up, to be honest, in my home language in Urdu and in English,” he explained. “It’s mainly melodies and sometimes she kind of makes sounds back to me, which is amazing.”
Calling Khai an “amazing baby”, the singer says he and Hadid were surprised at the quick adjustment to parenthood.

“It’s been really easy for me and Gi to kind of just ease into it. She’s made it really easy for us, she sleeps really well and she loves her milk. It’s just feeding and changing diapers at the moment. It’s wicked, I’m enjoying it for sure."
Calling in from Pennsylvania, Malik said he was enjoying the relaxed environment and, though it’s not in their immediate plans, suggested the pair may settle down somewhere similar in the future once they’ve achieved their career goals.
