From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

US megastar Madonna will next year open a new fitness club in Moscow, the second one in her Hard Candy chain after a branch opened in Mexico, her associate in Russia said Monday.

"Madonna will be in Moscow in March-April to open the club," Mark Mastrov told reporters. "She will teach a master class and she is very excited."

Mastrov said the fitness fanatic diva had chosen Moscow as "she loves Russia she likes how people dance".

The new club will overlook the Kremlin, the seat of the Russian government.

The project is a joint venture with Russian fitness chain Planeta Fitness whose head Irina Razumova said the club would be close to Red Square and clients would be able to see the Kremlin towers while working out.

Madonna last month flew to Mexico City to open the first Hard Candy Fitness club, part of a global chain she and her business partners are unveiling around the world.
