Jim Davidson has admitted he's never changed a nappy while appearing on a segment for Good Morning Britain, comparing the act to cleaning windows.

The topic of men changing their babies' nappies became a recent source of contention following an interview given by Russell Brand to The Sunday Times Magazine.

In the interview, Brand revealed he's never spent 24 hours in sole charge of his children and that his wife Laura Gallacher takes on the majority of parenting responsiblities, including changing nappies.

While some people have labelled Brand's approach to parenting as "sexist", Davidson revealed he has a similar mindset when it comes to raising young children.

After telling Good Morning Britain co-hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid he's adverse to changing nappies, he stated he'd only change one if it were clean.

"I used to get an au pair girl and nannies and things like that, you pay people. Do you clean your own windows? Exactly, so that's it," the father-of-five said.

Davidson then added he'd be open to having a go at changing a nappy, and said he's "not proud" regarding his stance on the subject.

Television presenter Jamie East, who also appeared on Good Morning Britain, compared the remarks made by Brand and Davidson.

"Russell's great, but you can't get away with saying stuff like that in 2019," East said.

"Jim is very much from a generation, shall we say that? Your views are probably wide apart from many others."

Following retorts made by Davidson, East then added the grandfather should be changing nappies as it "brings you closer to your children".

Numerous people have been expressing their views concerning Davidson's longstanding refusal to change a nappy, with many criticising the comedian for insinuating it's not his responsibility.

"My husband changes our daughter's nappy, not because I'm telling him to, it's because he is her dad and a very proud dad too," one person tweeted.

"I'm a dad. I equally share all the responsibilites," another person wrote.

"My dad who is 80 has never changed a nappy. Times are changing."
