Thousands of older women could be eligible for fertility treatment on the NHS if new guidelines raise the age limit for treatment.
IVF is currently only recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence for women aged 23 to 39 because the chances of success decline rapidly with age.
But reports suggest that it could raise the age limit to 42 in its new draft guidance to be published tomorrow.
