Mind Over Madness Yoga

An annual summer solstice event where the world is invited to Times Square, similar to watching the New Year's ball drop, except you need to bring your yoga mat to take part in the free yoga festival. The goal is to find "tranquility and transcendence in the midst of the urban energy of the world's most commercial and frenetic place" with one of the day's scheduled free yoga classes (available from 7:30am to 6pm). Thousands or yogis are expected to attend, and event sponsor lucy activewear is providing free yoga mats and gift bags to the first 1,000 attendees for each class. Since it is Times Square, where anything and everything is known to happen, there is a waiver you need to sign as well as RSVP for a class. 24th BIO International Convention
June 27-30
Washington, DC, USA
The 24th Annual BIO convention, the global biotechnology industry event of the year, takes place June 27-30 in Washington, DC. Among this year's keynote speakers is world-renowned author Daniel H. Pink. More than 15,000 participants ranging from scientists to C-level executives worldwide will be introduced to the latest in biotech innovations for healthcare, industrial and environmental, and food. Tickets are $2,490 (€1,880) non-member and $1,740 (€1,314) member conference rate, but prices will increase as the event draws nearer.

PHealth is celebrating its eight annual event as the leading international conference devoted to wearable micro nano technologies for personalized health. The event is designed for health professionals and scientists but there will be lots of new "future" medicine and therapies revealed. Registration fee for full conference attendance is €350.

The world's largest open scientific conference on HIV/AIDS, the 6th IAS Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention (IAS 2011), will be held in Rome this year. The event is organized by IAS, in partnership with Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Italian National Institute of Health). Held every two years, the conference attracts around 5,000 delegates from all over the world and provides a unique opportunity for the world’s leading scientists, clinicians, and public health experts to discuss the latest scientific developments in HIV-related research.
